Back in March, Facebook announced that it would start rolling out a direct payment feature in Messenger. After first rolling out to users in New York City in May, the company has announced that direct payments are now available to everyone in the U.S..
From Facebook's David Marcus:
We're happy to announce that Messenger person-to-person payments are now available to everyone in the U.S.! Add your Debit Card and pay anyone on Messenger in a few taps. Money goes straight from your checking account to the recipient's checking account. Easy and safe. As always, give it a try it and let us know how we can make even better for you!
There's no word on when or if this feature may see an international rollout, but if you live in the U.S. and trust Facebook's Messenger platform with your money, paying your friends back just got a bit easier.
